I’ve heard about back water valves for stopping basement flooding, especially during storms. How do they work compared to other flood fixes? Anyone installed one?

Back water valves are a handy way to prevent sewer backups in your basement. They basically block water from flowing the wrong way during heavy rain. I came across a clear guide at https://leaquida.ca/back-water-valve-installation-toronto/ that explains the setup. Could be a smart move if you’re worried about storm floods!
